A LITTLE SCIENCE

Invisible doesn’t mean absent.

Transparent objects may change light without absorbing much of it. Different microscope techniques make different features easier to see.

These swimmers are invented shapes with artificial motion. The views use simplified absorption, edge and phase-inspired effects, not a full optical simulation. Names describe shapes, not real species. There is no physical scale or calibrated magnification.

Darkfield shows redirected light, not fluorescence or creatures making their own light. Phase halos are imaging artifacts. Side-lighting relief is not measured height. The enlarged inspection shows the same model at a larger display size, not a higher-resolution measurement.

Every swimmer stays in every view. Detective cases ask you to match visible features, not identify real organisms. Free hints offer a strategy. Candidate descriptions are a text alternative. Worked examples are recorded as reviewed, not solved. In the warm-up, Guided discovery gives a location. This is a learning puzzle, not a skills assessment. Links recreate the starting drop. Progress lasts only while this page stays open.
