About this tiny world
The images are original synthetic cell fields rendered by MVLscope’s LFM teaching model. The same 3D emitter coordinates are used across seven depths and two displayed fluorescence labels. They are not photographs or experimental measurements.
What the controls do
Focus selects model sections from 0 to 3 micrometres, spaced by 0.5 micrometres. Blue represents DNA labels in the nucleus; green represents actin labels. These assigned display colours help separate signals and are not natural cell colours. The screen-zoom control enlarges a stored image; it does not change the objective, acquire another image or improve optical resolution.
All channels and depths use a shared fixed display scale, with the same 1.55 display-brightness multiplier in the puzzle. Image matching accepts the target depth or either adjacent stored section (0.5 micrometres away). This is a low-stakes picture puzzle, not a test of microscope focusing skill. Compare shows the opening image at depth 3 micrometres, combined channels and screen zoom 1×. No motion in the specimen is simulated. The playground is separate from lab sessions and does not save learner answers.
